Before you begin

To get the most value out of your reporting features, we recommend completing basic setup tasks, such as creating items, categories, modifiers, discounts, taxes or service charges.

If you update the name of an item, category, modifier, discount, tax or service charge, it will be recognized as a separate entry in reporting.

To set up analytics and reporting, you’ll need to have access to your Square Dashboard.

Step 1: Set up reporting hours

You can set up multiple custom time ranges to best represent your business hours. Once complete, you can filter reports based on the set reporting hours.

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click >Reports >Settings.
  2. Select Reporting hours >Add reporting hours.
  3. Enter the Hour set name and choose a Timezone.
  4. Enter the Start time and End time. The start time will determine the calendar day that sales will be attributed to.
  5. Once complete, click Save to add the reporting hours.
